Public access rule

The direct public access rules  are the rules which allow barristers to accept work directly from the person or company involved in the case.

Direct public access means that you no longer need to have two lawyers to deal with your case. At Park Chambers your barrister will present your case in court or tribunal and can now do the other legal bits usually done by a solicitor as well.

Direct public access means that you no longer need to pay for two lawyers to deal with your case.

In cases where our members are appointed as mediators they can also be appointed directly, without the involvement of a third party.
