For claimants the time limit for most tribunal claims is 3 months. For respondents the time for response to a tribunal claim is 28 days. BUT exceptionally time limits are extended - so even if you think you are already late contact us to see if any exceptions might apply.
The direct public access rules are the rules which allow barristers to accept work directly from the person or company involved in the case. Direct public access means that you no longer need to have two lawyers to deal with your case. At Park Chambers your barrister will present your case in court or tribunal and can now do the other legal bits usually done by a solicitor as well. Direct public access means that you no longer need to pay for two lawyers to deal with your case. In cases where our members are appointed as mediators they can also be appointed directly, without the involvement of a third party.
The "right to conduct litigation" or having the "conduct of the case" means the right to do the things normally done by a solicitor as well as doing those normally done by a Barrister
*The Court of Appeal's decision in favour of the company was later overturned by the House of Lords
